Romania’s Superbet opens 50 bookmakers in Poland, eyes two other external markets

Romanian sportsbook operator Superbet, recently listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), has officially launched its operations on the Polish market, and 50 agencies will be operational by the end of the year, digi24.ro informs.

Superbet has obtained the betting licence in Poland last October, becoming the only foreign operator authorized to operate on this market.

The first agencies in Poland are opening this week, and the main cities where the Romanian brand will be present are Warsaw, Katowice, Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk.

“We hope to have 100 agencies operational up until the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In the early part of next year, we will probably also get the license to operate online and we will launch superbet.pl,” Vlad Ardeleanu, General Manager Superbet Romania, stated.

According to him, investing in Polish agencies reaches several million euros and is expected to be amortized in a few years.

“For next year, we are going to build teams in Serbia and Slovakia. We chose these countries as a result of the market survey we made. Such a decision depends very much on local management teams,” Superbet official said.

Ambassador of the Superbet brand in Poland will be the football player Jerzy Dudek, former Liverpool goalkeeper and former member of Poland’s national team.
