SAMEDAY Voices Intention to Acquire Hungarian Courier Company Sprinter

As part of the strategy to expand the delivery infrastructure in the region, SAMEDAY announces its intention to take over the fast courier company Sprinter from Hungary. Thus, following the potential acquisition, SAMEDAY will expand its out of home infrastructure in Hungary by 60% by taking over the 450 delivery points owned by the Hungarian company, as well as the home delivery capacity.

Sprinter is a traditional express courier company from Hungary, with a history of 17 years on the market, which serves a significant number of online stores and will also deliver to Romania.

By the end of 2024, the SAMEDAY out of home network in Hungary will reach almost 2,200 easybox lockers and delivery points, with coverage in all major cities and regions in Hungary and which will be activated in the next period for online stores that ship crossborder.

“We are building a unified and borderless delivery zone that will improve the customer experience and reduce delivery costs for online stores in Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria. We have an ambitious plan to reach 8,500 delivery points in the region this year, and the eventual takeover of the Sprinter infrastructure is an important step. We will continue the accelerated expansion by increasing the number of easyboxes and introducing new delivery points and shop-in-shop systems, which will support the even faster development of online commerce in the region,” said Lucian Baltaru, CEO of SAMEDAY Group .
