In September 2023, the estimated number of unemployed individuals aged 15-74 was 444.4 thousand, showing a decrease from the previous month (446.6 thousand) and a decrease compared to the same period in the previous year (448.2 thousand).
When considering gender, the unemployment rate for men was 0.9 percentage points higher than that of women. Men had a 5.8% unemployment rate, while women had a 4.9% rate.
The persistently high unemployment rate among young people (15-24 years old) at 22.3% remains a concern. In contrast, the unemployment rate for adults (aged 25-74 years) in September 2023 was estimated at 4.5%, with a rate of 4.2% for women and 4.6% for men.
Individuals aged 25-74 years accounted for 78.2% of the total estimated unemployed population in September 2023.
These are excellent stats. So… the Government can increase more the basic wage. (Next year).
