SIVECO to develop an IT system for SRI for EUR 20 M

Controversial IT company SIVECO, in joint venture with Nova Tech Integrated Solutions SRL, has won the auction for an IT project of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI). The contract value is over EUR 20 million, digi24.ro informs.

SIVECO was in the midst of several public scandals. The largest was in 2014 when Irina Socol company’s founder was convicted for a tax evasion of EUR 3 million.

She is also suspected in a corruption file with Ana Maria Patru, the former head of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).

The project won by SIVECO and coordinated by SRI is named SII Analytics. Specifically, it is a huge database that will gather information from all main state institutions, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Justice, National Fiscal Administration (ANAF) and the National Bank of Romania. SIVECO and Nova Tech Integrated Solutions will deal with the first part of this project.

The auction for the SII Analytics project, started on July 17 last year and 18 companies attended it. The auction complied with the legal procedures, SRI says, the beneficiary of the project. According to the procedures, the deadline for signing the contract is 11 days. At this time, appeals may be lodged.

According to Electronic System of Public Procurement (SEAP), the Romanian joint venture has subcontracted a worldwide giant – BAE Systems and another firm – Romsoft International. In a report released last year by the Agency for Romania’s Digital Agenda, SIVECO won over 60 contracts with the state in the IT sector during 2011-2015, with a total value of EUR 95 million.
