Tarom expects losses of over RON 8 M this year

Romanian air carrier Tarom could end 2015 with losses of RON 8.236 million, according to the incomes and expenditures draft budget published Tuesday on Ministry of Transport website. Thus, according to the document, company’s total revenues are estimated at RON 1.536 billion, while expenditures at RON 1.544 billion.

Staff costs are set at RON 209.4 million, of which RON 133 million represents salary expenses. The forecasted number of employees at end-2015 is 2,083 people and the average monthly earnings per employee, determined based on salary expenses, is estimated at RON 5532.40.

RON 13,402 million is allocated for expenses with severance payments related to redundancies and for expenses related to the mandate agreement and other management and control bodies, commissions and committees – RON 1.905 million.

The investment costs are estimated at RON 92.967 million. The outstanding payments were set at 14,000 lei and outstanding claims at RON 3.3 million.

Recently, the Romanian PM Victor Ponta announced that the government has begun negotiations with several companies, including Turkish Airlines, for the sale of a stake in local air carrier. According to him, the state will keep 51 percent of the shares if the investor will be from outside the EU or give the majority stake if the owner will be a European company.
