The new IKEA 2019 catalogue, launched in Romania. What’s hot?

The new IKEA 2019 catalogue has been launched in Bucharest today, with 800,000 copies to be distributed in the Capital and countrywide as of August 28. The distribution of the catalogue will end on September 28, as Local Marketing Manager IKEA Daniela Stoican announced.

IKEA catalogue has been distributed for 68 years, in 50 countries around the world. 190 million copies translated in 37 languages are thus reaching the customers’ homes.

As IKEA turns 75 this year, the new catalogue’s leitmotif is diversity of the life at home.

Theodor Nica, Communication and Interior Design Manager IKEA Băneasa explained that the new catalogue is celebrating life at home, and that’s why, the 2019 edition presents seven houses, each with their own story, comprising different life styles which are though harmoniously blending together: homes for various age pairs, for numerous or small families, homes for people who share their apartment with roommates or people who live alone in tiny spaces.

Among the houses that became „cover girls” of the 13th edition if IKEA catalogue for Romania, there is a 16-sqm studio, but also a house dedicated to the sustainable life style.

We are obsessed with living at home at IKEA. We want to bring ideas and inspiration which fit the choices of most of the people. Therefore, this year we created some complete indoors and we left aside the individual rooms presented in the catalogue so far,” Theodor Nica said.

The houses featured in the 2019 catalogue are based on findings of the Life at Home Report study that IKEA have conducted around the world. One of these findings revealed that a big issue of the modern life style is „the pile of stuff” we have around in the house, so, two of the houses in the catalogue provide solutions on how to organize objects and memories.

The event presenting the new 2019 catalogue has also revealed the limited edition collections of the Swedish home furnishings giant.

For instance, the new Gratulera collection is bringing back in stores the most loved IKEA furniture items, popular in the 50s, 60s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. The first part of this collection has already hit the stores, while the next two will be launched in October and December.

The Foremal collection comprises decorative objects and gifts, starting from skull-shaped vases to dog-shaped candlesticks, masterminded by Per B Sundberg, an iconic Swedish artist known for his absurd humor. The peculiar limited collection will land in stores as of next month.

IKEA will also launch a collection dedicated to pets, Lurvig, which is  the Swedish word for “hairy”. The items include dog beds and couch covers to cat tunnels and scratching posts.

We must not forget Lustigt limited edition, a collection that is all about play for the sake of playing, no rules, children and adults alike, including colouring sheets, a puzzle, a skipping rope, a weaving loom or boules with soft balls.
