Kimball International Inc.’s electronic contract assemblies unit will open a factory in Timisoara, the second group’s unit in Europe, after the plant in Poland.
“We are delighted that we shall make this investment in Romania. The new plant in Romania will supplement our activity in Poland and will offer additional solutions to our customers,” Janusz Kasprzyk, vice-president of the company’s European Operations told a press release, quoted by Mediafax.
The factory will be located nearby Timisoara Airport, in a 6,000 square meters area and will have more assembly lines.
According to real estate sources for Mediafax, Kimball Electronics bought two hectares of land and is to acquire also the building to shelter the factory. The total investment, equipment included, amounts to EUR 6-10 M.
The company is expected to hire staff for the Timisoara plant in Q3 2015.
