Volkswagen-Audi, Enercon show interest in developing business in Romania

Premium car manufacturer group Volkswagen-Audi and Enercon, the fourth-largest wind turbine manufacturer in the world, are interested in starting businesses or developing partnerships in Romania, Ministry for the Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship announced in a press release.

Minister Alexandru Petrescu pays an official visit in Germany during April 25-28, attending also Hannover Messe Fair, where several Romanian companies present their offers.

Petrescu had also discussions with the representatives of companies such as Schaeffler, or Rittal, which are already present with substantial investments on the Romanian market, but are planing to expand their investment footprint locally.

“The German companies present in Romania are mainly involved in production and R&D activities, their development strategies being convergent with the government measures of Romania’s re-industrialization, Emphasizing the transition from the export of raw materials to the export of high added value products,” Petrescu stated.

Industrial Internet of Things services and products were the main focus of this year’s Hannover Messe, with vendors on the IT side which were eager to show their new Internet of Things services for factory floors and manufacturing customers, as well as new partnerships with operational technology companies.
