Why entrepreneurship is more of a focus for the under 30s

More than 60 students took part in an workshop on “Entrepreneurship and personal development: dialogue about the world of tomorrow” organized by the School of Domestic and International Business, Banking and Finance within the Romanian-American University. Participants learnt that, whatever of age, the difference between success and failure is often made by a solid business foundation, the willingness to learn, the ability to adapt and work hard, and the passion for work.

University Professor Florin Bonciu, PhD, encouraged the students to experiment, to try and learn from successes and failures in order to discover themselves, noting that personal development is a holistic process in which what matters is the whole, and not every part taken separately. “One way to try, to discover what you know and what you don’t know, what you can and can’t do yet, a way to relate to those around you economically, but also socially is to become an entrepreneur, with the opportunities and challenges that only those who have tried know“, Professor Florin Bonciu, PhD, emphasized.

Florin Bonciu is a University Professor and PhD at the Romanian-American University for courses taught in Romanian and English, a scientific researcher I at the Institute of “World Economy” and an active participant in the work of the European Institute of Romania since its foundation.

It is an increasingly challenging environment, and the entrepreneurial path is a young person’s absolute quest for his own business. Perhaps it is a more difficult path than finding a job in a company, but the rewards are also much greater than when you are just an employee. The time has never been more appropriate, especially for young people. You have to be convinced that this is what you want to do, be committed to your business and not set unrealistic expectations,” said in his turn one of the guests, Romeo Cazănescu, Country Director Herbalife Nutrition Romania, Moldova, Hungary and Bulgaria, told the students.

He also pointed out that, according to a OnePoll survey, 58% of the Romanians think it would be ideal to become an entrepreneur before the age of 30. One of the main reasons why the millennials and Gen Z would choose entrepreneurship is the opportunity to be your own boss and pursue your passions.
