Update: Gov’t approves 4-day mini-holiday for Labour Day

A new extended mini-holiday is expected rather soon, as the Government has adopted on Thursday a decision by which April 30 will be day off. Hence, the state employees will benefit from four days off work as April 30, Monday, will make the connection between the weekend and the Labour Day (May 1) on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila announced at the start of the Government sitting on Thursday that April 30 will be day off work.

“For the public sector employees, April 30 will be day off, considering that Tuesday, May 1, is non-working day. The decision will not be enforced to the institutions where work cannot be stopped. In order to recuperate April 30, the public institutions will choose either to work on Saturday, May 5, or to extend the work time on May 11,” Premier Dancila said.

The decision will not be enforced for the magistrates and other staff with the court of law involved in solving the lawsuits having as deadline April 30, 2018, the Government informs.
