British Ambassador: Strengthen the judiciary, do not weaken it

The British Ambassador in Bucharest, Paul Brummel, has reacted to the latest developments regarding the judiciary, saying that any reform regarding the justice system should support the fight against corruption, not prevent it, and to support the consolidation of the rule of law.

The Ambassador, commenting the latest amendments by parliament to the Criminal Codes, said also that serious investors come only to a stable country where the law is observed, digi24.ro informs.

Paul Brummel said that, secondly, the international issues are important, as now there is good bilateral cooperation on security and on the judiciary, and that any investor wants the country in which he invests in, to be stable, to have clear laws and to be, as much as possible, a country without corruption.
