President-elect Klaus Iohannis will pay a visit to Kishinev on Friday, where he is expected to meet R. Moldova’ s president and premier, official sources told Mediafax on Tuesday.
An unofficial visit to USA is also scheduled for Iohannis before he takes the oath in Parliament on December 22. However, Iohannis met U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Dean Thompson on Tuesday, the American official conveying the U.S. Gov’t congratulations to the Romania’s President-elect. The meeting tackled common interest topics in the spirit of the excellent bilateral cooperation and of the strategic partnership, reads a press release issued by the Liberal Party.
Klaus Iohannis is also expected to Alba Iulia on Romania’s National Day on December 1. According to PNL Alba spokesperson, Adrian Simion, Iohannis’ presence to Alba Iulia is “99 per cent sure” and the official program is to be released in the upcoming days. Local authorities from Alba Iulia heralded an ample three-days program to celebrate National Day comprising a military parade, concerts, laser shows and fireworks.
