Dăncilă contemplates tandem with Teodorovici for the electoral campaign

PM and PSD chairwoman, Viorica Dăncilă, has stated in Vaslui on Friday that she is considering a president-premier tandem for the electoral campaign, revealing that one of the people considered for the prime minister position is the Finance minister Eugen Teodorovici.

I have several people in mind. I strongly believe we must come up with a tandem for (…) seeing so much misinformation in the public space I have to clear things up and come out with a proposal for prime minister”, the current premier said.

Asked if this proposal might be Eugen Orlando Teodorovici, Viorica Dăncilă replied: “Definitely, yes“.

While paying the visit in Vaslui, with several other top PSD members, Viorica Dăncilă  has been compared to Stephen de Great, Romanian medieval ruler.

PSD secretary general Mihai Fifor retorted to ALDE ruling partners’ accusations that PSD has a thrown game with Klaus Iohannis through designating Viorica Dăncilă as candidate for Presidency, comparing the situation with a famous battle back in the times of Stephen de Great, the battle of Podul Inalt, Vaslui, where Stephen the Great’s army defeated the Ottoman army of Suleiman Pasha.

How would have been to see warriors in Vaslui lining up behind Suleiman and going to fight next to Suleiman against Stephen the Great? It is similar as right now, us to line up behind Iohannis to fight the Romanian PM. Not even those who launched this nonsense believe what they said,” Fifor said.

The Battle of Vaslui (also referred to as the Battle of Podul Înalt), eastern Romania, was fought on 10 January 1475.  Although the Ottoman troops  (120,000) outnumbered the ones of Stephen the Great (40,000), Stephen inflicted a decisive defeat on the Ottomans, described as “the greatest ever secured by Christianity against Islam.”
