The Permanent Electoral Authority informs on Friday, through a press release, that DNA prosecutors have requested to be made available the lists of candidates submitted by the S.O.S. Romania Party for the European Parliament elections on June 9, 2024. The institution specifies that these are not searches, neither at the headquarters of the Central Electoral Bureau, nor at the headquarters of the AEP.
The AEP indicates, according to the cited source, that, given that the activity of the Central Electoral Office for the Romanian members of the European Parliament in 2024 has ceased, the entire archive of documents of the BEC for the European Parliament has been archived at the Permanent Electoral Authority.
“On Friday, December 13, 2024, a request was received from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice – National Anticorruption Directorate regarding the provision of the lists of candidates submitted by the S.O.S. Romania Party for the European Parliament elections of 09.06.2024”, the AEP said in the press release and specifies that “the requested documents are to be submitted during Friday, December 13, 2024, with no search taking place at the headquarters of the Central Electoral Office or at the headquarters of the Permanent Electoral Authority”.
