Dragnea: “Iohannis is dreaming about me being dead, convicted”

PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea has continued his accusations against President Iohannis three days before the referendum and the EP elections. The SocDem leader accused the head of state of “dreaming” about changing the parliamentary majority after elections and of „dreaming” about him being convicted.

I tell Iohannis, these are his dreams to change the majority, what it has to do with the European elections or with the referendum. Let’s see what Romanians decided on Sunday. PSD will be there on Monday, on Tuesday and in December when he (President Iohannis) will be banished from Cotroceni. This man has dreams about me day and night, about me dead, about me being convicted. After the EP elections we are announcing the candidate for presidency, I haven’t say I will announced my candidature,” Dragnea told Romania TV on Wednesday evening.

Moreover, Dragnea claimed that there have been “unimaginable pressures” on the judge panel that is judging the fictitious hiring file where he is sentenced to 3 years and a half in prison. PSD chair accused the pressures are following the order of the system, of Iohannis. Asked if he has any proof to certify this, Dragnea replied: “Well, I dreamed about it”.

The entire system, upon Iohannis’ order, I know what I am talking about: the entire system-SRI, Pahontu, people from DNA,” Dragnea argued.

He reiterated that there is no evidence against him in the fictitious file and that he is innocent.

Dragnea also denied he is boycotting the referendum for justice, revealing that his sources within the General Prosecutor’s Office confirmed there is a complaint filed by the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) accusing Liviu Dragnea and PSD of boycotting the referendum.

If I say go to the referendum and vote yes, they will pick me up like in 2012 (editor note: Dragnea has got a final ruling on probation in the referendum file where he was charged of electoral tourism). I f I say I won’t go to the referendum and that I won’t vote, they say, so, you are boycotting the referendum. So, I’d rather say nothing. The party has voiced an opinion that we are endorsing the topics of the referendum“, Dragnea said.

Asked if he is upset with PM Viorica Dancila for announcing she will vote at the referendum, he replied: “God forbid! Very good, we are a free country!”.
