Ecaterina Andronescu, Education Minister, could run for the position of PSD chairman at the Congress on June 29.
Social-democrat sources, quoted by ‘Adevarul’ newspaper, say that the Education Minister is 90% determined to join the competition. At the PSD Congress in March 2018, Andronescu ran against Viorica Dancila for the position of Executive President, although Dancila was supported by former chairman Liviu Dragnea.
The same sources say Andronescu also wants to be the PSD proposal for the presidential election, a decision to be made by another PSD congress, later in July.
Other possible candidates on behalf of PSD are Serban Nicolae and Liviu Plesoianu.
