EP’s TRAN Committee OKs Adina Valean for the European Commissioner seat

The European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) has given a favourable opinion to Adina Vălean, proposed by Romania for the Transport Commissioner seat. Vălean has been Okayed by 36 votes after being heard by the Committee’s MEPs.

She stated that she would like EU to reach the target of carbon dioxide emissions neutrality by 2050 and this must be economically feasibly although extra efforts are needed to meet this goal.

As for the Green Deal, Adina Vălean said it cannot be concluded without putting Transports sector at its centre and that the green mobility must serve the interests of the citizens.
