Ex-PM Viorica Dancila named central bank governor’s strategy adviser

Former PSD PM Viorica Dăncilă has been appointed the new strategy adviser of the central bank governor, Mugur Isarescu, a BNR official told Digi24.

More precisely, Dăncilă will be adviser at the National Bank of Romania on such sector as Strategy of Sustainability and Green Energy. The first day of work for the former premier would by June 1.

Viorica Dăncilă was Romania’s PM during January 29, 2018-November 4, 2019 and ran on behalf of the Social Democrat Party in the 2019 presidential elections.

At the same time, Ioan Mircea Pașcu, former MPE and vice-president of the European Parliament, will be also co-opted at BNR, and will manage the political strategy department, as BNR councilor Adrian Vasilescu confirmed.

Vasilescu argued that the selection standard for both Viorica Dancila and Ioan Mircea Pascu, both former MEPs was “the need of people who are opening doors in Europe”.
