Former Justice Minister Tudorel Toader says no draft ordinance on amnesty and pardon had reached the Gov’t

Former Justice Minister Tudoral Toader stresses on Wednesday, that the Government did not receive any draft emergency ordinance regarding amnesty and pardon.

The remarks were made given the statements made by Prime Minister Viorica Dancila on Tuesday, that she did not want to adopt emergency ordinances on justice because she believed it was not fair.

“I confirm what the Premier said! On the Government table no draft GEO on amnesty and pardon arrived. The Justice Ministry did not elaborate any draft GEO on amnesty and pardon,” Tudorel Toader wrote on Facebook.

He added he refused to take over any draft GEO on these issues, drafts elaborated by ‘reflection centers’. Toader says two drafts from the reflection centers were taken over to Brussels two times, but have never been submitted to the Government for adoption.

PSD interim chairman, PM Viorica Dancila, said Tuesday evening she did not want to issue emergency ordinances on justice topics, because she did not think it is fair.

“I want no further talk about justice. We’ve had no discussion about justice. (…) I did not want to issue emergency ordinances on justice topics because I thought it was not fair, so none was issued,” Dancila said during the press conference at the end of the National Executive Committee on Tuesday, referring to the PSD positioning regarding the Criminal Codes.
