Gabriela Firea takes over the PSD Bucharest leadership

PSD President Liviu Dragnea has announced that Gabriela Firea is to take over the Social-democratic leadership in Bucharest, to replace Liviu Negoita. On the other hand, Ilie Rafael was excluded from the party, while Rovana Plumb will take over the office of PSD Vice-president, digi24.ro reports.
“I am the first option for the city hall, however another option may come out. All in due time,” Firea said after being nominated as interim PSD Bucharest head, one step on the way of launching the candidacy for the Bucharest city hall.
Firea thanked for the confidence of her colleagues. “We will be a united team,” she said.
In his turn, Robert Negoita, District 3 mayor, said he supports Firea’s candidacy.
PSD President Liviu Dragnea added that Liviu Negoita was not sacked.
“One of the Vice-president positions was taken by Rovana Plumb, she was my proposal. Rovana remains in the leadership team. She was a good minister and has done a lot for the party,” Dragnea concluded.
