Romanian authorities have considered some measures to relax restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic after May 15. Political sources quoted by Digi24 revealed that PM Ludovic Orban had told Liberal leaders in a party meeting on Tuesday evening that the government has considered a slight relaxation of restrictions, including opening hair and beauty salons, dental offices, parks and business premises that have entrances from the street.
On the other hand, shopping malls will remain closed, as they are considered premises where social distancing is not possible. Restaurants will also remain closed after the state of emergency ends on May 15.
Restrictions will also continue to be in force in the quarantined areas in Romania, such as Suceava. The above mentioned sources said that restrictions will remain in force in the localities under quarantine after May 15 as well.
PM Orban had stated yesterday that hotels might be re-opened in June, July and August, with certain restrictions in place.
“I don’t see any restriction in the hotels, pensions resuming activity, with establishment a set of rules. There will be certain protocols adopted regarding the potential re-opening of the tourism sector during June-August,” the PM said.
