Gov’t names 12 new consuls general

The Government appointed 12 new consuls general on Wednesday, arguing the nominations were based on “a transparent selection proceeding grounded on several objective criteria”.

The 12 nominations refer to vacant positions or mandates that are ending in the upcoming 90 days.

Therefore, the following consuls have been appointed: Manuel Pleşa ( Barcelona), Mircea Ciulu (Hong Kong), Cosmin Dumitrescu (Los Angeles), Andreea Berechet (Manchester), Mircea Ghenea (Miami), Radu Sârbu (Rio de Janeiro), Teodora Mircea (Salonic), Anton Păcureţu (Sankt Petersburg), Iulian Niţu (Sydney) , Daniel Banu (Szeged), Cosmin Lotreanu (Trieste), Ovidiu Grecea (Vancouver). Ovidiu Grencea has been relocated from Rio to Vancouver.

The people named as consuls general are career diplomats or with diplomatic or administration expertize, the Gov’t informed.
