The Government is to adopt an emergency ordinance to enable freezing allowances for dignitaries, stopping deployments from the private environment to the public area, banning pension-salary overlapping in the public sector and capping the fine point after PSD had challenged the law on amending GEO 114 to the Constitutional Court.
PM Ludovic Orban explained that they had to promote an emergency ordinance after the PSD’s referral to CCR that delayed the enforcing of several provisions, such as freezing the dignitaries’ wages at the level of 2019, stopping deployments from the private environment to the public area, banning pension-salary overlapping in the public sector and capping the fine point, as well as the extension of the deadline to enforce article 200 of the Administrative Code on special pensions for mayors and county council leaders.
“All these actions underpin the budget execution and they must be adopted as soon as possible, otherwise they risk negatively affecting the budget”, PM Orban argued.
