The Government will take responsibility on the law repealing the special pensions if the bill initiated by PNL is not adopted by the Chamber of Deputies, Liberal MP Robert Sighiartău has announced.
“I don’t think the bill will be sent back to the special committee, anyway if it sent back tomorrow we’ll take responsibility on it. What I want the most is to cut the special pensions for lawmakers, so that they could not be accused they are privileged,” the Liberal MP argued.
He added that special pensions must be removed for all professional categories, except for military, as they risk their life for the country.
His stance comes as PM Ludovic Orban stated last week that the draft law on removing special pensions should be debated again in the special committees of the Parliament and that PNL does not agree with the amendments that cut special pensions from sportsmen and culture personalities.
The bill is to be debated in the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday.
