Hungarian Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister, Peter Szijjarto, has said on Friday, that if an attack against Romania is launched in the European parliament, the Hungarian MEPs will vote in favour of Romania.
“We believe Romania is a strategic partner and our aim is to build the strategic partnership and friendship between the two countries, as it is obvious we face similar challenges, we are under foreign pressures, attacks against the two countries. I have very clearly conveyed to the Chamber’s Speaker that, if an attack on Romania takes place in the European Parliament, based on biased opinions, the Hungarian governing party MEPs will vote in favour of Romania,” the Hungarian Foreign Minister said at the Parliament Palace on Friday, telegrafonline.ro reports
Peter Szijjarto stressed Hungary will stand by Romania in the European Parliament.
“We will never support an attack on Romania in the European Parliament,” added Peter Szijjarto.
Chamber of Deputies Speaker, Liviu Dragnea, has met on Friday, at the Parliament Palace, the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto.
The European parliament is expected to vote in plenary session, on November 14, a resolution regarding the rule of law in Romania, according to the agenda posted on the website of the European institution.
