IMAS poll: Klaus Iohannis front-runner for Presidency, PNL ranks first in parliamentary elections

The incumbent president Klaus Iohannis would win the presidential election in a landslide, reads the latest IMAS opinion poll commissioned by Europa FM.

Iohannis would obtain 45% of the votes, followed at a great distance by the candidate endorsed by ALDE and Pro Romania, former actor Mircea Diaconu- 16.6%.

Dan Barna, the candidate of USR-PLUS Alliance would rank third-14.2%, while the PSD’s candidate, PM Viorica Dancila would rank fourth-getting only 12.4%. Theodor Paleologu (PMP) would come fifth-7.7%.In case of parliamentary elections, PNL would win them, with 27.7%. PSD is coming second-19.5% and USR would come third-17.9%, but, together with PLUS, the Alliance would outrank PSD, coming second- 23.6%, as PLUS is credited with 5.7 percent.

Pro Romania-9.1%, ALDE-6.2%, UDMR-5.7% and PMP-3.3%.

The opinion poll was conducted during August 9-28 on 100 respondents aged over 18.

USR Poll shows a different ‘catwalk’ for presidential election

According to an internal USR opinion poll, released by G4Media, President Klaus Iohannis is raking first in the voters’ preferences (40.5%), followed by PM Viorica Dancila (21.4%) and Dan Barna (19.7%). Mircea Diaconu comes fourth, with 7.6 percent.
