Călin Georgescu said in 2023 that Romania did not enter Schengen “thanks to the free people of this country”: “For me it is an honor that we did not enter Schengen.”
“Entering Schengen means being on a stage where everyone is brainwashed,” said former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu in April 2023, on the podcast of Sorin Constantinescu, former government advisor on gambling and former AUR member.
At the time of the statements, Romania had been rejected for full Schengen membership. Călin Georgescu tried to explain the reason why Romania had not been accepted into the European free movement area.
“That is why Romania did not enter Schengen, because they are still authentic peasants. We are exactly as we were before and today… For me it is a great honor, I emphasize this, that we did not enter Schengen. I am glad that we did not enter Schengen,” said Georgescu.
“We owe this to the free people of this country. I bow before the Romanian peasant who is the uncrowned king of this country. Just as in the past a cart of peasants held empires in place, as Țuțea said, so it is today,” continued the former presidential candidate.
He said, referring to the Schengen area, that “the most frightening prison” is “the one in which you relate to it and say that you live well”.
“Free does not mean that I get up in the morning, drink my coffee that is brought to the store through a mafia system in my country, with water that is not mine and could be mine. I go to a job (sic!) where all you do is move some things that a corporation gives you, so you do not produce anything. And I go to the so-called entertainment which means the whole miserable mall that practically destroys everyone’s inner life“, Călin Georgescu also said in the podcast.
Romania and Bulgaria will join Schengen with land borders starting January 1, 2025. The decision taken today in the Justice and Home Affairs Council was announced by the Hungarian EU presidency, and was welcomed by European Union officials.
