Iohannis tops Romanians’ confidence, followed by Isarescu, Maior and Ponta, survey says

President Klaus Iohannis leads in the standings of confidence in personalities, according to a survey released on Thursday by Inscop and published by the newspaper ‘Adevarul’.

The president continues to occupy the first position with 65% much confidence and very much confidence (64.6% in February), followed by BNR governor Mugur Isarescu with 40.1% (42.1% in February).

On the third place stands George Maior with 24.8% (21.8% in February), followed by Prime Minister Victor Ponta 24.4% (24.5% in February) and mayor of Bucharest Sorin Oprescu, with 20.1% (22.2% in February).

Next are: Calin Popescu Tariceanu – 17.1% (19% in February), Mircea Geoana – 15.8% (16.8% in February), Catalin Predoiu – 15.7% (16.2% in February), Traian Basescu – 15.6% (17.8% in February), Monica Macovei – 15.3% (16.3% in February), Mihai Razvan Ungureanu – 15% (17.1% in February) and Alina Gorghiu – 13.5% (12.7% in February).

The ranking is completed by Ion Iliescu – 10.4% (9% in February), Crin Antonescu – 10.2% (12.4% in February), Vasile Blaga – 8.4% (10.6% in February) Liviu Dragnea – 7.9% (7.3% in February), John the Russian – 7.6% (6.8% in February), Elena Udrea – 4.1% (5.5% in February), Kelemen Hunor – 3.8% (3.7% in February) and Laszlo Tokes – 3.2% (4.1% in February).

The survey was conducted by Inscop Research for “Adevarul” during April 23-30.

The sample was made of 1,085 people and is representative for Romania’s population aged 18 and over 18. MPE data is plus/minus 3% at a confidence level of 95%. The method used was the opinion poll based on a questionnaire applied by interviewers at respondents’ homes.
