The most recent IMAS survey shows that if next Sunday were presidential elections, Klaus Iohannis win.
More specifically, the current head of state would be re-elected by 36.6% of those who participated in the survey, EuropaFM private radio broadcaster informs.
ALDE leader and Senate Speaker Calin Popescu Tariceanu is ranked second with 13.4% of the votes.
On the third position is former Prime Minister and Pro Romania leader Victor Ponta with 12.2%, followed by PLUS President, former Premier Dacian Ciolos – 11%.
According to the source, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila would be voted by 5.8% of those interviewed in the survey, and USR’s Dan Barna by 4.6%.
Kelemen Hunor, UDMR leader, would get 1.6% of votes, and Eugen Tomac, PMP chairman 1.4%.
If only the valid voting options are considered, the positions are the same:
- Klaus Iohannis (42.4%);
- Calin Popescu Tariceanu (15.5%);
- Victor Ponta (14.1%);
- Dacian Ciolos (12.7%);
- Viorica Dancila (6.7%);
- Dan Barna (5.3%);
- Kelemen Hunor (1.8%);
- Eugen Tomac (1.6%).
The IMAS survey was commissioned by Europe FM and conducted during June 7-26, 2019, the interviews being conducted by phone.
