LIBE delegation to discuss with Iliescu, Talpes and Nitu about the alleged CIA centres in Romania

A delegation from the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs committee (LIBE) of the European Parliament is to arrive on Thursday in Bucharest to have talks with former president Ion Iliescu, with former SRI head Ioan Talpes and with incumbent prosecutor general Tiberiu Nitu, but also with representatives of civil society, in connection with the alleged CIA centres in Romania.
The Delegation will thus meet on Thursday former President Ion Iliescu, the former director of SRI Ioan Talpes and with George Ciamba, Secretary of State with the Foreign Affairs Ministry, said the LIBE communications department, Mediafax informs.
The meeting with Ion Iliescu would take place on Thursday at 17.00h, according to the program of the delegation, but the former president has not yet confirmed his participation to the discussions.
The meetings with Romania’s general prosecutor Tiberiu Nitu and with the members of Parliament will take place on Friday.
