Liberals are staging a protest meeting in front of the Palace of Parliament tomorrow, September 29 when the Parliament is set to debate the censure motion against Ponta Gov’t.
Liberal co-president Alina Gorghiu said on Monday the meeting will be attended by 10,000 persons and by all Liberal lawmakers.
“All Liberal MPs will be in the street joining us at the protest by 10 a.m. when we go to Parliament for the censure motion. There will be PNL leaders from all across the country, there will be speeches at Izvor Park, there will be a censure motion debated in the street,” Gorghiu said.
The other PNL co-president Vasile Blaga also stated he is convinced all his colleagues will be manifesting peacefully.
The censure motion filed by PNL is signed by 183 MPs and has already been read in Parliament last Wednesday.
In retort, PSD interim chairman Liviu Dragnea argued that such a meeting can be a pressure factor or can be “just a mere game”.
“I tell you honestly, many Liberals talked to some of our colleagues, admitthing it was an unexpected action. They don’t believe much in this initiative with the censure motion either and are upset with the two-headed leadership of this party for throwing them in such an adventure that don’t give them any political or parliamentary benefits,” Dragnea said.
