The National Liberal Party (PNL) has asked for the PM Viorica Dancila to be heard in Parliament on two topics: the Gendarmerie’s violent intervention during the Diaspora rally on August 10 and on the African swine fever crisis, the leader of the Liberal deputies, Raluca Turcan has announced on Wednesday.
„It’s mandatory that the upcoming parliamentary sessions should start with the hearing of the prime minister in the Parliament’s plenary sitting on the repression of the peaceful protests and the violent intervention of the Gendarmerie against peaceful protesters. PNL has requested today the hearing of the prime minister Viorica Dancila in the Parliament plenary sitting, right at the start of the session,” Turcan said.
She added that PM Dancila must also say why she had not sacked Interior minister Carmen Dan, „following the most disastrous intervention of the Gendarmerie against protesters since the miners’ riots up to the present”.
„The prime minister is compelled to tell the truth before the Parliament and we challenge the premier to tell the truth, because providing false information to the Parliament means criminal liability according to the ministerial liability law. PM Viorica Dancila is compelled to stop reading lies from all kind of notepaper (…), and to understand that, otherwise, can be held criminal responsible”, the Liberal leader stated.
Turcan added that the premier must also explain „the disastrous management of the African swine fever, which has a major impact on the economy”.
