The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposed 417 polling stations to be set up in over 90 countries for the parliamentary elections due on December 11, the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) announced on Monday.
The list also includes seven polling stations advanced by the Foreign Affairs Ministry based on the requests made by at least 100 Romanian citizens in a locality or a group of localities abroad.
The list comprises 193 polling stations set up upon the diplomatic missions, consular offices or cultural institutes abroad, besides the traditional ones.
The countries proposed to have the most numerous polling places are Italy-72 polling stations, Spain-52, Republic of Moldova- 34, USA-30, UK-20, France-16, Germany-15, Austria and Belgium-nine each.
Among the countries to host one or two polling locations there are South Africa, Albania, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, New Zealand, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Cuba, Egypt, Philippines, Georgia, Jordan, Iraq, Japan, Kenya, Malta, Morocco, Mexico, Montenegro, Pakistan, Peru, Qatar, Senegal, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Vietnam or Zimbabwe.
