Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a new security alert related to Turkey on Monday. MAE warned that the security situation in Turkey remains unstable, particularly in Ankara and Istanbul, while calling on the Romanian citizens to stay extremely cautious and vigilant.
“MAE informs that the security situation in Turkey remains unstable, particularly in Ankara and Istanbul regions. Therefore, MAE reiterates warning addressed to the Romanian citizens who already are in this country or intending to go there to stay extremely cautious and vigilant, while avoiding involvement in any manifestations or public events which might turn to violent actions,” reads the ministry’s press release.
At the same time, the foreign affairs ministry recommends Romanians to permanently inform about the evolution of the domestic situation in Turkey and to check the availability of the means of transportation to and from this country.
MAE has issued a first travel warning on Saturday, saying that a team from the Consulate General of Romania in Istanbul, which is at Ataturk International Airport, assists Romanian citizens, as required, being established two assembly/information points.
