Mihai-R?zvan Ungureanu took office Wednesday as director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SIE) on Wednesday, the ceremony being attended by President Klaus Iohannis.
The Presidential Administration informed on Wednesday that Ungureanu was sworn in as Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service and the ceremony was attended by President Klaus Iohannis.
Klaus Iohannis stressed “the important position of the Foreign Intelligence Service in the recently adopted National Defence Strategy, especially in the context of rapid geopolitical changes in the region. The Romanian president also stated that the Foreign Intelligence Service is in the front line against unconventional challenges from abroad,” the presidential administration informs.
President Klaus Iohannis nominated Mihai Razvan Ungureanu for the position of Director of Foreign Intelligence Service on June 24, a week later the plenum of the two chambers of Parliament voted in favour of the appointment.
