Mihai Tudose resigns from Pro Romanian over “total disagreement” with Victor Ponta

Former PM Mihai Tudose has resigned from Pro Romania on Monday following tensions with the party chairman Victor Ponta.

Tudose made the announcement on his Facebook account: “Just so…for now. I won’t get into details on the reasons of this action, namely the total disagreement with the central leadership’s decisions are notorious”, says Tudose, also attaching a photo of his resignation, registered on December 2.

However, Tudose made no reference what happens to his MEP seat, obtained after Victor Ponta had given up the mandate to him.

Mihai Tudose has repeatedly stated lately that he is not leaving Pro Romania and that Victor Ponta is the one who should go.

“I am getting in his way and he will do anything to make me leave. Once we all leave, he will sell more illusions until the general elections when the threshold of 5 pct is untouchable. PRO’s chance, Victor, is for you to leave,” Tudose said last week.

In his turn, Pro Romania chair Victor Ponta has asked Tudose to resign from the party and to give up his MEP seat.
