Moldovan President, Igor Dodon, expresses gratitude for the ‘pacifying’ activity of the Russian troops in Transdnestria

The President of Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has expressed on Wednesday, his gratitude for the ‘pacifying’ activity of the Russian troops in Transdnestria, during a visit paid to the separatist region, unimedia.info reports.

Dodon had a meeting with the separatist leader, Vadim Krasnoselskii, on the pacifying operations in the region.

“I’ve expressed our joint support to all participants to the pacifying operation in the Security Zone and gratitude to the Russian Federation for the activity of the pacifying Russian contingent, for the effective and continuous functioning of the pacifying mission, for the peacekeeping efforts at the Dniester River,” President Dodon said.

The separatist region Transdnestria declared independence from R. of Moldova in 1990, claiming the fear of a possible reunification between R. of Moldova and Romania.
