New parliament, new MPs – The president of Romanian Boxing Federation, a social worker, a 24 y.o. deputy

The new parliament to be convened on Tuesday includes older MPs, at their second or third term, but also ‘brand new’ ones such as the President of the Romanian Boxing Federation, a social worker, a writer and the youngest deputy.

Emanuel Ungureanu is a former social worker who claims the first priority should be the health system. He helped people suffering from chronic renal failure get on the transplant lists. Ungureanu, 38, wants to draw up a more efficient bill on transplants.

Vasile Câtea is the President of the Romanian Boxing Federation and some would say his colleagues should refrain from making him angry… His priority is sports. The PSD deputy says “sports are an advanced form of education for the younger generation to get better in terms of education and health.”

On USR lists in Iasi was elected writer Dan Lungu, 47, author of the novel ‘I am a communist old lady’, keen to support the cultural development. “The funding of cultural projects, their coherence, I would support a special part on community centres. I want to revitalize the cultural life in the rural area,” he says, according to digi24.ro.

Along with fresh voted engineers, economists and lawyers there’s a new MP for PNL Brasov: Mara Mares is only 24 and has just graduated the European and International Studies College in London.
