The leader of the Liberal deputies, Raluca Turcan, has announced on Tuesday that 118 PNL, USR, PMP and Pro Romania deputies had filed a request for an extraordinary session to be convened at the Chamber of Deputies, to discuss controversial bills, such as the ordinance to repeal amnesty and pardon and GEO 114.
She argues that the National Liberal Party stays committed to the idea that amnesty and pardon, as well as other tools “at the hand of the corrupt in PSD must be annulled”.
Raluca Turcan also said the Opposition would like an extraordinary session of the lower chamber during August 26-30 to repeal the amnesty and pardon law and GEO 114.
“The aim of this extraordinary session is precisely to repeal certain tools that people with legal problems can use anytime for their benefit, but which are directly impacting the Romanians’ daily lives (…) We also want to cancel the most toxic tool that is currently choking the Romanian economy, GEO 114, which make Romanian have a hard time”, Turcan told a press conference.
