A Liberal MP has launched the scenario that Justice Minister Tudorel Toader might be replaced by PSD for denying to adopt an emergency ordinance on amnesty and pardon and the interim might be provided by Interior minister Carmen Dan.
„A more and more likely scenario! Justice Minister Tudore Toader fell from PSD favor for denying to adopt an ordinance on amnesty, that Liviu Dragnea want so much. It’s very likely Toader is reshuffled following the simple motion against him, with PSD providing the needed votes in order to appoint Carmen Dan as acting Justice minister and she will adopt the much-needed AMNESTY, for its protectors. If the GEO on amnesty is adopted, it will be <a nice present> on December 1, in the year of the Centennial,” PNL deputy GiglelStirbu posted on Facebook.
The mass media reported lately that PSD intends to dismiss Justice Minister Toader for not having given the amnesty GEO.
The Liberal’s post comes amid upcoming vote in the Chamber of Deputies on the simple motion filed by PNL and USR against Justice minister Tudorel Toader.
PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea has previously said that he would not suggest the Social Democrat lawmakers how to vote, adding they will vote according to their conscience. Asked if he takes the risk that the motion should pass, Dragnea replied: „I can never twist PSD deputies’ hand behind their back”.
On the other hand, ALDE chair Călin Popescu Tăriceanu, said that the role of the majority is to vote against.
While the motion’s authors from the Opposition blame Toader for fraternizing with criminals and fro trying to politicizing the judiciary system, PSD seems to have another types of rebukes.
“If I were to reproach something to the Justice minister is that he should have done what he had to according to his job description, namely to amend the justice laws, not us, to amend the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code, for maybe we were wrong and we were not so good as him and to give amnesty and pardon. Yet, as it is a simple motion of the opposition, we must follow the political game and vote against this motion,” said PSD MP Catalin Radulescu
