The Standing Bureaus of the Parliament have approved on Tuesday the establishment of a special committee to amend the legislation on the Diaspora vote, Senate Speaker Calin Popescu Tariceanu announced. The committee has a deadline to come up with a proposal in this regard by the end of this month.
“We have to find a flexible, efficient, unbureacratic solution to facilitate the vote of the Romanians abroad. The standing bureaus have approved the amendments of the law and a special committee must come up with a proposal by the end of this session. It is a priority endorsed by all parliamentary parties,” Tariceanu said.
The Senate Speaker have also announced that the two legal committees of the Parliament will analyse which are the needed legislative amendments to transpose the referendum on justice of May 26.
Tariceanu said last week that he would propose vote in advance for the upcoming election. By this proposal, the polling stations will be open for a whole week in Diaspora so that all Romanians should have time to exert their rote to vote.
FM Melescanu had said he would summon all ambassadors for talks to analyse the EP election of May 26 and that he would propose them the enforcement of the vote in advance.
