Provisional results of local elections presented on Monday morning, counting for 94.63% of the polling stations, show that the Social Democrat Party (PSD) got the most of the votes for city halls- 37.47%. The National Liberal Party (PNL) ranked second- 32.98%, followed by ALDE- 5.56%, independents -5.05& and UDMR- 4.61.
More precisely, PSD obtained almost 1,578 and PNL 1,030 mayor seats. UDMR won 195 mayor seats, ALDE -60. UNPR won 23 city halls, PMP -18. There are 48 independent mayors.
Regarding the county council ranking, PSD also came first with 37.55%, followed by PNL-31.06%, ALDE- 5.98%, UDMR- 5.84% and PMP 4.13%.
On Local Councils, PSD has got 35.84%, PNL 31.06%, ALDE 6.63%, UDMR 5.8% and PMP 3.89. The ranking also includes the Bucharest’s districts.
In Bucharest, the Gabriela Firea, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and the National Union for Romania’s Progress (UNPR) obtained 43.53 percent of the votes in the elections for the Bucharest Mayoralty, followed by Nicusor Dan, the Save Bucharest Union (USB), with 29.76 percent of the votes, according to the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) count from 783 polling stations out of the total 1,252 existing in Bucharest.
The National Liberal Party’s Catalin Predoiu comes third, with 11.32 percent of the votes, followed by the People’s Movement Party (PMP) — 6.31 percent, and the Alliance of Liberal and Democrats (ALDE) — 2.96 percent.
In the Bucharest General Council race, the PSD+UNPR Alliance garnered 40.94 percent of the votes, USB — 24.45 percent, PNL — 13.30 percent, PMP — 6.87 percent, ALDE — 6.35 percent.
