PM Cioloș embarks on two-day visit to Paris

Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos will pay an official visit to Paris on Wednesday and Thursday, at the invitation of French Republic President Francois Hollande.

President Hollande and PM Ciolos will participate in a working lunch, to be also attended by French PM Manuel Valls. The Romanian premier will meet with the French Senate Speaker Gerard Larcher and with National Assembly President Claude Bartolone.

“The main topics to be approached in the discussions with the French officials refer to the privileged historic relations between Romania and France, speeding up the pace for completing the projects included in the roadmap of the strategic partnership with France, rendering the economic relations more dynamic and consolidating the contacts with the business environments, strengthening the sectoral cooperation in common interest areas, but also important topics on the European and international agenda, such as terrorism, migration and the European Union’s security policy,” the Government informed on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Ciolos will also have an encounter with representatives of the Romanian community in France, with delivering a speech on the benefits of joining the EU and Romania’s vision on the European project at the Sciences PO French Institute of Political Studies.

A meeting with French businessmen is also expected, as well as a visit to the Romanian Constantin Brancusi’s former workshop in Paris, which is a museum now.
