PM Dancila cancels foreign visit due to domestic political situation, PSD ready for emergency ordinance on Criminal Codes – sources say

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila has cancelled the visit to Oman, scheduled early next week, due to the domestic political situation, Government sources have told ‘Adevarul’ newspaper. Political sources say the Government will adopt, in the coming days, an emergency ordinance to amend the criminal legislation, which would cancel the recent verdict on PSD leader, Liviu Dragnea.

The visit of PM Dancila to Oman was scheduled during June 24-26. “All details were set. The Premier changed her mind for the reason that an agitated political week is ahead and has cancelled the visit, on Friday, less than 48 hours before the departure,” the sources said.

The PSD leadership will be summoned next week in order to mandate the Government to adopt an emergency ordinance to amend the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code, as it did in the well-known GEO 13, sources from PSD have told

This week, on Wednesday, is also scheduled the vote on the censure motion filed by PNL.

Early in May, Foreign Minister, Teodor Melescanu, told the Chamber of Deputies foreign policy committee that the ministry is working on a tour for PM Viorica Dancila in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
