PM Dancila takes three-day tour in the Western Balkans. Meetings with officials in Montenegro and Macedonia

Romanian PM Viorica Dancila will pay an official visit to the Western Balkans during July 25-27, where she will have meetings with officials from Montenegro and Macedonia, to send Romania’s message of support for the accession to the EU of the two states, the Government announced.

The talks will focus on “reconfirming the closed bilateral relations, founded on the endorsement for the EU accession and on providing regional stability and security and ways to continue and develop good bilateral relations with these two countries will be explored, while focusing on enhancing economic cooperation”, reads a Gov’t press release.

Regional security will be also reviewed, “amid recent invitation received by Macedonia to join NATO, as well as considering Montenegro’s recent status pf ally”.

“A major goal will be represented by the European agenda of the two states, considering the importance Romania is giving to the Western Balkans region during the period when our country holds the Presidency of the EU Council”, the press release adds.

Premier Viorica Dăncilă will meet in Podgorica her counterpart from Montenegro, Duško Marković, president Milo Djukanović and Parliament speaker, Ivan Brajović.

The Romanian PM will have a series of meetings in Skopje, Macedonia, with PM Zoran Zaev, president Gjorge Ivanovand Parliament speaker, Talat Xhaferi.
