Premier Mihai Tudose will pay a visit to Brussels this week to meet with the President of the European Commission, the President of the European Council, the President of the European Parliament, in order to convey the firm message that Romania will meet all assumed commitments, Minister Delegate for European Affairs Victor Negrescu said on Saturday.
“The current government is observing all previous commitments and seeking a very good cooperation with our European partners,” Negrescu told a press conference in Alba Iulia.
The minister revealed the agenda of the visit. “The programme includes a meeting with European Commission President Mr. Juncker, it was already announced on the EC website, but the Premier will actually meet with all the European institutions’ important officials — the President of the Council, the President of the European Parliament and probably with some of the Commissioners. We will of course meet Mrs. Commissioner Corina Cretu and Mr Timmermans. It’s a one-day visit that I believe will have the expected success and, moreover, there’s this message we want to deliver: a plus of reliability in our relation to Brussels. We have prepared very well for this visit and I am convinced that the Romanian Premier will start cooperation with Brussels in the benefit of the Romanians and the priorities of the current government,” said the Minister Delegate for European Affairs.
