PM Tudose meets several PSD leaders at the Gov’t HQs, without Liviu Dragnea

Premier Mihai Tudose has met the Social Democrat Party’s executive leader Eugen Badalau and other PSD leaders at the Victoria Palace (The Government’s building) on Tuesday. Social Democrat Party chairman Liviu Dragnea hasn’t been present.

19 county council leaders, representatives of the Social Democrat Party have come to the Government to attend the signing ceremony of several contracts to buy tens of medical cutting-edge devices.

According to political sources, PSD executive leader Eugen Badalau had a half hour- talk with PM Tudose.

After that, the premier had separate meetings with several county council leaders, among whom there were Marian Oprisan (Vrancea), Maricel Popa (Iaşi), Ionel Arsene (Neamţ), Marius Horia Ţuţuianu (Constanţa).

Eugen Badalau has sent a letter the the party leaders within the Executive Committee held on Monday, saying that PSD has accepted the suspension of the internal democracy, which, in his view, is an error that must be assumed by the party.

Badalau had also said that a Congress would “cure” PSD’s life, saying that it is good for the Social-Democrats to talk about their problems and say what they want to do.

The ruling PSD is currently amid an internal dispute, with several leaders considering that a change at the helm of the party is necessary. Moreover, there seems to be growing tension about the Prime Minister and the PSD chairman.
