PNL to sue Bucharest City Hall, calls for disbanding municipal companies

The National Liberal Party (PNL) will sue the Bucharest City Hall calling for the disbanding of the 22 municipal companies set up last year.

The decision comes as last Thursday the Bucharest Court of Appeals ruled to cancel all the decisions to set up the municipal companies. The ruling is final and ends the lawsuit initiated by USR Bucharest.

PNL also wants to notify the Court of Auditors regarding the activity of these companies.

Lawyer Cristian Bacanu argues the solution is the court case, PNL requesting the annulling of establishment documents and the disbanding of the companies, adding that the ruling would include the liquidators.

Bucharest Mayor Gabriela Firea said last week, after the Bucharest Court of Appeals decision, that the structures still exist and the solution, which she sees as an error of interpretation, will not have effect on the companies and that the City Hall will make use of all means to prove the legality of the constitutive documents.
