President Iohannis: People want more coherent laws

President Klaus Iohannis on Sunday wrote on his Facebook page that people would like “clearer, more coherent laws that wouldn’t be amended at short notice” and that politicians should meet this expectation.

“I know people want clearer and more coherent laws that should not be amended at short notice. This expectation will have to be answered by politicians,” the Romanian president said.

President Klaus Iohannis will address the two chambers of Parliament on September 16 at 11:00. Vote by mail and code of incompatibilities are most probably some of the topics that the president will tackle during his speech.

The vote by mail has been considered a priority of the last parliamentary session, yet the parliamentary parties didn’t manage to agree on a draft on this topic. Four such bills on the vote by mail have been tabled in Parliament.

Now the Electoral code committee is set to debate the draft one day before the President’s address, namely on September 15.
