President Iohannis receives Vietnamese PM, eight new ambassadors at Cotroceni

President Klaus Iohannis – in his last year of office – received the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, at Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Monday. It is the first public appearance of the president this year, the most recent being on December 18, 2023.

I am glad, Mr. Prime Minister, that, after we met twice, you decided to visit the country of which I hope you have very nice memories”, Iohannis told the Prime Minister of Vietnam, who during his visit to Bucharest met and with Marcel Ciolacu and took part in the Romania-Vietnam Economic Forum.

The head of state also received eight foreign ambassadors, on the occasion of the presentation of letters of accreditation. 

More precisely, President Iohannis received the accredited ambassadors of Brazil, Ricardo Guerra de Araújo, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Giles Portman, of Albania, Enkeleda Mërkuri, of Greece, Evangelia Grammatika, of Armenia, Tigran Galstyan, of Azerbaijan, Güdsi Dursun ŏglu Osmanov, Tunisia, Sami Nagga, and Japan, Takashi Katae.
